This is definitely one of the biggest transfers this season. Next season, Taylor Sander, one of the best outside in the world, will play in PGE Skra Bełchatów!
A 28-year-old volleyball player (196 cm tall) was born in California, where he began his sport career. In the university league he represented Brigham Young University (2011-2014). His next club was Calzedonia Verona (2014-2016), with whom he won the Challenge Cup. The next stop in Sander's career was China and he played in Beijing Volleyball, with which he won a silver medal in the national championship and silver medal of FIVB Club World's Championship. The American also had an episode in Qatar, in Al-Arabi Doha, with which he won the Qatar Cup (2017).
Sander returned to Europe, to the famous Cucine Lube Civitanova, where he achieved further successes: silver medal of Italian Championship (2018) and silver in the CEV Champions League (2018). After the season in Italy, he went to Brazil, where he played in Sada Cruzeiro. In the 2018/2019 season, he won the Brazilian Cup, the bronze medal of the local championship and the club championship of South America.
Sander also has a rich international career. He played in the squad from an early age, and as a senior he won, among others, bronze medal at the Rio Olympic Games, World League gold medal (2014), World Cup (2015), North, Central and Caribbean American Championships, as well as the bronze at the World Championships (2018). He added several significant individual awards.
However, Sander skipped the season 2019/2020 to improving health. He had a shoulder surgery and, as he claims, is now ready to come back and fight for the highest goals in PGE Skra Bełchatów.
- I am very excited to join PGE Skra! I'm glad to join such a strong team in PlusLiga. I am also very grateful for the opportunity to play in this team. I had several transfer options to other clubs, but I knew that playing in the Polish league would be great for me as a volleyball player. PlusLiga is very strong and I wanted to play in one of the best teams in Europe - says Taylor Sander.
