A 28-year-old volleyball player (196 cm tall) was born in California, where he began his sport career. In the university league he represented Brigham Young University (2011-2014). His next club was Calzedonia Verona (2014-2016), with whom he won the Challenge Cup. The next stop in Sander's career was China and he played in Beijing Volleyball, with which he won a silver medal in the national championship and silver medal of FIVB Club World's Championship. The American also had an episode in Qatar, in Al-Arabi Doha, with which he won the Qatar Cup (2017).
Sander returned to Europe, to the famous Cucine Lube Civitanova, where he achieved further successes: silver medal of Italian Championship (2018) and silver in the CEV Champions League (2018). After the season in Italy, he went to Brazil, where he played in Sada Cruzeiro. In the 2018/2019 season, he won the Brazilian Cup, the bronze medal of the local championship and the club championship of South America.
Sander also has a rich international career. He played in the squad from an early age, and as a senior he won, among others, bronze medal at the Rio Olympic Games, World League gold medal (2014), World Cup (2015), North, Central and Caribbean American Championships, as well as the bronze at the World Championships (2018). He added several significant individual awards.
However, Sander skipped the season 2019/2020 to improving health. He had a shoulder surgery and, as he claims, is now ready to come back and fight for the highest goals in PGE Skra Bełchatów.
- I am very excited to join PGE Skra! I'm glad to join such a strong team in PlusLiga. I am also very grateful for the opportunity to play in this team. I had several transfer options to other clubs, but I knew that playing in the Polish league would be great for me as a volleyball player. PlusLiga is very strong and I wanted to play in one of the best teams in Europe - says Taylor Sander.
- We had were long negotiations. When it became a fact that the CEV Champions League is coming back to Bełchatów, we made an attempt and I am very happy with this transfer. Taylor is one of the best players in his position in the world, big person of the United States national team. I deeply believe that it will be a big point of PGE Skra, which will allow us to compete not only in Poland, but also in Europe. I hope it will be one of the leaders of our team - says Konrad Piechocki, President of KPS Skra Bełchatów S.A.
- Taylor Sander is one of the players we can talk about as complete. He is very athletic, he spikes the balls high. I still have a picture from Turin, from the World Championships, when we played against USA and we couldn't stop him. He is technically good in difficult elements like a block, he also has a good service... If we are talking about world-class players, then Taylor belongs to them - adds Michał Mieszko Gogol, PGE Skra coach.
Sander will soon join the PGE Skra Bełchatów team and, as he says, he is looking forward to the first trainings in the new team.
