Miguel Angel Falasca will always stay in our heart

It is a very sad day for PGE Skra and the whole volleyball world. Miguel Angel Falasca, a former player and coach of the PGE Skra Bełchatów team, died in the age of 46.

The Spanish player and coach came to PGE Skra in 2008 as a setter. He made many succeses with the Polish team - he won the Polish Championship three times (2009, 2010 and 2011) and three Polish Cups (2009, 2011, 2012). He won also the silver medal of the Club World Championships (2009) and the silver medal of CEV Champions League (2012).

After finishing his volleyball career, Falasca became a PGE Skra coach. This period was also rich in successes - PGE Skra won the Polish Championship (2014) and the Polish SuperCup (2014). PGE Skra also won the bronze medal of PlusLiga and gained the fourth place in the CEV Champions League (everything in 2014) and the Polish Cup (2016).

- We are in a huge shock. This is a very bad news for the entire club, because we have only good memories with Miguel. Together with him, we achieved many successes. In Bełchatów, he also began his coaching career. He will be forever in our memories and we will be associated with very important moments in the club - says Konrad Piechocki, president of PGE Skra Bełchatów.

Former player and coach of PGE Skra died on 22nd June. The cause of death was a heart attack.
